Feeding
Simplicity in FeedingWe have tried many methods of feeding our Nucs, and have found the best method is to simply pump the syrup through the entrance into the Nuc box.For fall feeding when the Nuc is strong we feed 2 liters at a time, together with any medication necessary. We normally leave 2-4 days between additional feedings and repeat until the Nuc reaches the desired weight. |

OverfeedingIn the springtime it is important not to overfeed any weaker Nucs, so care must be taken to ensure the right amount of feed is pumped into poorer Nucs.Overfeeding causes fermentation which in turn leads to further deterioration of the bees' strength. |
