Alternative BenefitsThe Nuc box can be used during the summer months to raise new queens. There many methods to raise queen bees. In the spring the Nucs are emptied by transferring the bees and frames into standard 10 frame hives for honey production. As soon as possible we re-establish the empty Nuc box with a small frame of brood and bees together with a queen cell that we have raised. |

Queening StrategyIn our honey producing side of the operation these queens are used for 2-queening our hives, in order to replace problem queens, for making increases and to provide new queens for wintering the following year. |
